IMA Annual Conference & Expo 2016: Update from Las Vegas

Nearly 800 professionals gathered in the center of nonstop excitement to attend this year’s IMA® (Institute of Management Accountants) Annual Conference & Expo, held on June 18-22 at the Cosmopolitan Hotel in Las Vegas.

This year’s Conference offered more than 30 hours of NASBA-approved continuing professional education (CPE) credits from more than 50 educational sessions. Topics covered included business performance management, cyber security, leadership strategy, risk management, internal controls, the CMA® (Certified Management Accountant) certification, and more. Attendees had the opportunity to learn insights from leaders in the fields of entertainment, sports, the armed forces, education, and accounting and finance. Select attendees also participated in onsite job interviews with Johnson & Johnson and, which were looking to fill more than 70 positions. 

Conference attendees can view copies of the session handouts on the Conference website (user name and password required).

In addition to the educational sessions, members networked at the Solutions Showcase, recognized the accomplishments of distinguished members and organizations at the Annual Awards Dinner, and exchanged insights at the Management Accounting Round tables. Call for Sessions: ACE 2017 in Denver

Want to help shape the content or serve as a speaker for next year’s Conference? IMA will be seeking speaker proposals for the 2017 Annual Conference & Expo, to be held June 17-21, 2017, at the Denver Sheraton in Denver, Colo. If you wish to speak at the Conference, please be sure to check IMA’s Conference website ( in mid-July and complete an online Call for Sessions form. Speaker proposals will be accepted through August 26, 2016.

During the fall, the 2017 Program Committee will review your submission, and you will receive notification by mid-November 2016 if your proposal has been accepted. Please note that IMA will review multiple proposals from the same individual.
